About

Fall Recital at The Steinway Gallery

It’s such an honor to teach and get to know each and every one of my students. Over 18 years of teaching and seeing God’s gift of music come to life never gets old!

What I love most about teaching is getting to know what makes my students excited about music. What tune can’t you stop humming? What song makes you smile when it comes on?

In our lessons we’ll be sure to work on material that’s personally motivating and fun! With a background in classical piano, a BA in Commercial Music from Belmont University and years of experience as a singer/songwriter I’m in a unique position to guide my students in learning a wide range of styles and techniques.

So whatever it is that makes you go “WOW, I want to learn that!” I’d love to help you get there.

FAQ

How long should the lesson be?

Most young beginners do well with a 30 minute lesson. If they have two disciplines (such as piano and voice) a 45 or 60 minute lesson would be appropriate. All students at intermediate levels and above do best with at least a 45 minute lesson.

Do you offer recitals?

Absolutely! Each year we hold a Fall Recital at The Steinway Gallery and a Spring Recital at The St. Paul Senior Living Community. Students are welcome to perform at both recitals.

What are your practice requirements?

The amount of time a student practices is based on their skill level and schedule. Younger students with busier schedules may do well practicing 3 days a week while dedicated older students may need 5 days.

Are lessons Weekly?

Yes, all lessons are on a weekly or semi-weekly basis. I do not offer every other week lessons or a la carte lessons.
